At Kubota, we’re committed to nurturing the next generation of innovators, which is why we’re proud to partner with Warren Township High School’s FIRST Robotics Team – Trident Robotics 4296. Facing significant challenges, this dedicated group of students is rebuilding their program, laying a strong foundation in STEAM education. Through teamwork, creativity and technical skills, they are preparing themselves to tackle the demands of the modern world.

Rebuilding

Before 2020, Trident Robotics 4296 was a well-established program with notable achievements, including competing in the World Championship in St. Louis. However, the global pandemic forced the team into hiatus, and many experienced members graduated, leaving the current team to rebuild from the ground up without their guidance.

One of those veterans, however, has carried the spirit of Trident Robotics into his professional life. Steven Esposito, a former team member and now a valued Kubota employee, fondly recalls designing critical components, such as a compact catapult, during his time on the team. His proudest moments included mentoring new members and seeing their excitement about robotics – a passion he now brings to Kubota. Esposito credits the program with teaching him teamwork, communication and technical skills that have been instrumental in his career and his continued support of STEM initiatives.

Recognizing the program’s transformative impact on his own life, Esposito was eager to introduce Trident Robotics to Kubota, paving the way for the company to support the team. By sharing his story and advocating for the program, he inspired Kubota to invest in helping the team rebuild and continue their legacy.

The Importance of STEAM

Reviving a program of this magnitude comes with challenges, including significant financial needs. A single FIRST Robotics season costs around $30,000, covering expenses like registration, materials and travel. Despite these hurdles, Trident Robotics is determined to compete in the 2024-2025 season, drawing inspiration and insight from their recent experience observing the Midwest Regional competition. At Kubota, we’re excited to see students explore STEAM education through Robotics and grow in their knowledge. We have donated $6,000 to support their endeavors as the season begins soon.

Building a Brighter Future

This determination is one of the many reasons Kubota is proud to partner with Trident Robotics 4296. Our support reflects a shared commitment to fostering innovation and empowering students through STEAM education. Programs like these not only provide hands-on experience in design, programming and mechanical systems but also teach invaluable life skills such as collaboration and problem-solving, preparing students for a bright future.

Trident Robotics exemplifies resilience and the transformative power of STEAM to inspire and shape lives. Kubota is honored to support their journey, helping prepare young leaders for a rapidly changing world. Together, we’re creating opportunities for innovation and discovery that will benefit students and their communities for years to come.
