As an engine provider, our mission is to create solutions that make life easier for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Building a successful partnership starts with three critical elements: a robust engine design, a commitment to quality in production and a strong support network. Each of these factors allows OEMs to integrate Kubota engines into their equipment quickly and with confidence.

With the introduction of the V5009, a powerful and compact addition to Kubota’s lineup, we’re meeting a new range of horsepower demands while focusing on the seamless integration that OEMs rely on. Here’s how the V5009 upholds these three pillars of a successful engine partnership.

1. Designed With Integration in Mind

The first step in ensuring easy integration is creating an engine design that’s adaptable, efficient and mindful of installation challenges. As emission regulations become increasingly strict, space within the engine compartment has become an increasingly precious commodity. Equipment that once only had to accommodate basic mufflers and simpler designs now has to fit components like SCR systems and DEF tanks – items that are critical for compliance but require additional mounting space.

The V5009 exemplifies a design that tackles these challenges head-on. Its 4-cylinder, 5-liter configuration delivers the power of a 6-cylinder engine within a compact footprint, optimizing space while meeting the latest emissions requirements. By combining a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) and high-pressure fuel system, we’ve achieved exceptional power density and torque in a smaller size. This allows OEMs to incorporate the V5009 into a wide range of equipment types, from loaders and sprayers to cranes and pumps, without sacrificing power or emissions compliance.

To further simplify integration, the V5009 offers three distinct Power Take-Off (PTO) locations – on the intake, exhaust and flywheel housing sides. This flexibility allows OEMs to choose the configuration that best fits their design needs and pull power exactly where they need it. Each PTO position adheres to SAE standards, making it easy to pair with standard components like pumps and generators. This adaptability helps OEMs overcome layout constraints and enables them to bring equipment to market faster.

2. Rigorous Standards for Reliable Performance

Quality in manufacturing is non-negotiable. Every V5009 engine is produced with meticulous attention to detail and tested for reliability and performance. Each engine undergoes rigorous quality assurance checks, ensuring it meets necessary torque and power standards while complying with stringent emissions requirements like EPA Tier 4 and EU Stage V.

Our commitment to quality goes beyond production. We proactively test each engine in simulated operational settings, validating cooling performance, vibration control and exhaust aftertreatment compatibility. This thorough testing process helps OEMs avoid unexpected integration issues, ensuring the V5009 will function seamlessly within their equipment. In addition, the V5009’s design includes longer maintenance intervals and zero-maintenance features such as automatic belt tensioning and hydraulic lash adjusters to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.

3. Delivering Support Where It’s Needed

The V5009 is backed by one of the most extensive dealer and support networks in the industry. With over 1,400 dealer locations across North and South America, we’ve made it our priority to be accessible wherever our OEMs operate. We know that getting parts and support quickly can make all the difference, especially when equipment is out in the field and time is of the essence. Our support network ensures that OEMs can rely on fast service and readily available parts to keep their equipment running smoothly.

We also focused on ease of maintenance when designing the V5009. By grouping key maintenance points on one side of the engine, we’ve simplified access for technicians, allowing for faster routine checks and servicing. Whether at a dealership or out on a jobsite, maintenance can be performed efficiently, reducing downtime and enhancing productivity. This combination of robust dealer support and user-friendly engine design makes the V5009 an optimal choice for OEMs looking for a dependable, integrated solution.

Seamless Integration With the V5009

Creating a truly integrated engine solution requires a commitment to quality and adaptability. With a carefully crafted design, rigorous production standards and a dealer network ready to support at every turn, the V5009 is built to simplify integration and deliver on every performance promise. We’ve built this engine with OEMs in mind – meeting their demands for power, flexibility and reliability, and establishing Kubota as a trusted partner in their continued success.

The V5009 is more than just an engine; it’s the result of Kubota’s dedication to quality partnerships and supporting OEMs in building the next generation of high-power machinery.
